LionSTEEL M-7: Go Big or Go Home

The LionSTEEL M-7 Combat/Survival Knife is a multi-purpose camp and field knife. The M-7 has a 1.75″ wide Sleipner steel blade with full-tang construction. Its contoured Micarta handle is a single-piece “integral” block that wraps around the bottom of the tang, while the pommel extends and creates a breaker with a lanyard hole. Includes a Kydex/Cordura MOLLE System sheath that is adaptable to multiple carry preferences. At 7.0″ long and 0.22″ thick, the M-7 is a beast.

The high saber grind allows for more steel in the upper blade portion making it an excellent knife for bushcraft tasks such as batoning. The high saber grind along with a wide blade profile from spine to cutting edge still allows the M7 to be an excellent slicer as well. The generous finger choil provides for choking up on the knife when doing tasks that require finer blade control.

The MOLLE-compatible sheath is well thought out and completes a very nice knife and carry system. The handle strap can be removed if desired since it is a secondary retention means as the knife fits quite securely in the Kydex sheath.

Sleipner steel is considered a high-quality tool steel, developed by Bohler-Uddeholm in Austria. This steel is recognized for its exceptional blend of features, offering strong edge retention, impressive hardness, and excellent toughness. The composition of this steel provides excellent resistance to wear and chipping, making it ideal for heavy-duty tools.

Note: Sleipner steel is not stainless. Owners of knives made from this steel should ensure they perform regular maintenance. Applying protective oils and cleaning the knives regularly will help mitigate corrosion and extend the lifespan of the blade.
