How to use a portable French Press:

– Add the grinds to the bottom of the stainless steel container. Course grinds work best, but you can use a smaller grind size and still enjoy good coffee thanks to the fine mesh filtering screen. Use two tablespoons for every eight ounces of boiled water (or slightly more if you like a richer brew).

– Boil the water. You can heat the water in the French press container if you don’t have a separate camping bottle or stove. Yes, it’s durable enough for campfire cooking!

– Pour your boiling water into the French Press container up to your desired amount (if heating the water separately). The measurements inside the container make it easy to create the correct ratio of coffee grounds and water. If you’re using the French Press Kit alone, you still want to add the grounds first, then the water. After that, place the French Press on your cooking grate uncovered until the water boils.

– Remove the Pathfinder coffee press from the fire and cover it with the top. Let the coffee steep for about four minutes.

– After brewing, gently push the plunger down all the way.
