The Renovo Water MUV1 Water Filter is unlike traditional activated carbon in powder or granular form.  It is a fibrous adsorbent that is 10x more absorbent than traditional activated carbon and gives you faster flow rates. Activated Carbon Fiber removes chemicals, chlorine, heavy metals, discoloration of water and improves water taste.
A filter with granular activated carbon (GAC) is a proven option to remove certain chemicals, particularly organic chemicals, from water.  GAC filters also can be used to remove chemicals that give objectionable odors or tastes to water such as hydrogen sulfide (rotten eggs odor) or chlorine. Activated carbon is highly effective at removing a set group of contaminants, but it can’t be used to completely purify air and water. Some chemicals and pollutants aren’t attracted to carbon media, which means other filtration techniques may be needed.
