The Spyderco Manix® 2 XL features a premium 3.875″ CPM S30V blade with a full flat grind. The blade is locked open using Spyderco’s patented Ball Bearing Lock™ which is comprised of a free-floating steel ball-bearing encased in a high-tech polymer cage. When opened, the ball bearing moves forward onto the blade’s ramp where it is wedged, locking the blade safely open.

The spherical shape of the ball rotates freely allowing the lock to self-adjust across a large surface, ensuring smooth and confident lock-up every time it is opened. Pulling the caged ball bearing to the rear releases the lock and allows the blade to close smoothly while keeping your fingers safely away from the sharp edge. Incredibly strong, smooth, and easy to operate, it is also completely ambidextrous.

The Manix 2 XL’s handle features a framework of 420J2 stainless steel liners covered with textured black G-10 scales. The liners inside the G-10 handle extend beyond the scales, creating a scalloped pattern around the handle’s perimeter for additional grip. This feature keeps the knife from slipping out in the hand and works well with gloves. The liners serve a double purpose by adding rigidity and lightweight strength to the handle. Strategically placed jimping on the edges of the liners ensures a secure grip, while an open-backed construction style simplifies cleaning and maintenance. A reversible hourglass clip supports left or right-side tip-up carry and a lined lanyard hole allows the attachment of fobs and lanyards.
