Cold Steel Engage ATLAS Lock: A Folder That Acts Like a Fixed Blade

The Cold Steel Engage ATLAS Lock is a 3.5-inch satin CPM S35VN stainless folder featuring Cold Steel’s ridiculously strong ATLAS lock. The blade has a shallow indent on the spine that allows for comfortable placement of your thumb or index finger when using the knife for precision work. The grips are ergonomically contoured for a secure grip and include large integral lanyard holes. The stainless steel pocket clip is reversible for left or right-handed use.

Cold Steel’s Atlas® Lock was engineered to blur the lines between folding and fixed blades. The patent pending Atlas lock is incredibly durable, reliable, and quick to actuate. The lock uses a modern, slide-style action. To disengage the lock, press the textured portion towards the back of the handle. The blade can be closed safely with one hand by placing the back of the handle in the palm of the hand and pulling back on the lock with the index finger. since it is positioned in the spine of the handle it is completely ambidextrous.

CPM S35VN offers toughness, corrosion resistance and edge retention. The blade is big enough to handle most tough outdoor tasks, but it feels like a smaller knife when it is being used to carve. The large finger choil and harpoon-like recessed area on the blade’s spine provide great control for carving or more precise cutting tasks. The tall flat grind of the Engage is nice for food prep as well.
