The Ranger Axe by Hardcore Hammers combines an alloy steel head weighing in at 4lbs and a stout 28″ hickory handle. At 28″ overall length with a 7.25″ 4140 alloy steel axe head with 4.25″ cutting edge, the Ranger Axe is ideal for both chopping and splitting firewood. A hardened poll is ideally suited for driving stakes and splitting wedges. The blade geometry lends itself to both felling and splitting.

Ferritic nitrocarburizing (FNC) is a case hardening technique that uses heat, nitrogen and carbon to toughen up the exterior of a steel part, improving its durability, appearance and corrosion resistance.
